CBI’s Annual Meeting will be held in-person and over Zoom on Wednesday, May 27 at 7:30pm (EDT). We invite you to attend and ask that you RSVP in advance; those joining us online must register via Zoom in order to receive the Zoom link. We’ll offer reflections on the past year, celebrate our community, talk about the year to come (including the budget), and vote on the slate of Board members and officers. There will also be an opportunity to schmooze and enjoy some light refreshments beginning at 7pm.
All are welcome as we celebrate Shabbat together with prayer, song, poetry, and heart. Some weeks the CBI choir and musicians will join Rabbi Rachel in leading prayer. Expect music, poetry, Torah teaching, and an opportunity to ritually let go of the week as we move together into sacred time.

The CBI Book Club will meet in-person to discuss This is Not About Us by Allegra Goodman. Goodman’s newest novel is a kaleidoscopic portrait of a modern American family — steadfast, complicated, begrudging, and loving — centering on the strained relationship between two sisters. Join with friends from across the Berkshire Jewish community at Temple Anshe Amunim in Pittsfield as we come together for a musical, family-friendly Shabbat service led by rabbis from across the county, then stay for a delicious, festive oneg. All are welcome to attend this service; please RSVP in advance if you plan to attend the oneg. This event is co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires, Congregation Beth Israel, and other Berkshire county synagogues and organizations.

By popular request, we are planning to prepare and distribute another Mitzvah Meal in Bennington, VT! We'll prepare a side dish and desert together from 2pm–4:30pm and help to serve meals for 100 people from 4:30pm–5:30pm. Our spiritual tools include traditional liturgy, contemporary poetry, chant, and song… as well as the spectacular views from our sanctuary, which connect us with the natural world and with our Source.
