Please note that we will not be holding regular Shabbat morning service at CBI this weekend. Instead, please plan to join us at Shabbat Across the Berkshires on Friday, June 20 at 6pm at Hevreh of Southern Berkshire! Pre-registration is requested for those who wish to attend onsite; a livestream will also be available.
Join Rabbi Rachel and members of the CBI community as we creatively "respond" to Torah through art! All are welcome to attend — you do not need to be fluent in Hebrew, a Torah scholar, or an "artist" in order to participate!
Our next meeting of the CBI Book Club, facilitated by Dr. Suzanne Levy Graver, Professor Emerita at Williams College, will take place over Zoom on Wednesday, June 25 at 7:30pm (EDT). We will discuss Songs for the Brokenhearted by Ayelet Tsabari, winner of the 2025 National Jewish Book Award for Fiction. A young Yemeni Israeli woman learns of her mother’s secret romance in a dramatic journey through lost family stories, revealing the unbreakable bond between a mother and a daughter in the debut novel of an award-winning literary voice.

Join us in Jewish tradition’s deep dive into communal mourning as we remember the destruction of both Temples and many other tragedies and traumas throughout our history and persisting in our present. Tisha B’Av is the spiritual “low point” of the year; from here, we begin the seven-week ascent toward the Days of Awe. There will be an opportunity to say Mourner’s Kaddish in full during this service.
