From The Co-Presidents
Dear CBI Community,
This newsletter reaches you shortly after Tu B’Shvat. As the Rabbi writes, the beautiful full moon of this holiday marks a path toward spring. It feels so wonderful to be gaining more light during these frigid days, where more warmth and light feels so needed on both a physical and a spiritual level. We hope you are all finding that light and that you share it with us at CBI.
We are excited to tell you about the tremendous progress we have made in our “Bring The Heat” campaign for a new HVAC system at CBI. We’ve just hit the halfway point in our fundraising, a contractor has been selected, and plans for a new HVAC system to be installed this spring are progressing. We extend our deep gratitude for your donations, and encourage everyone who has not yet had a chance to please donate. You can do so online, or make a pledge and pay by check (online donations include a service fee, so checks enhance the impact of your donations). To learn more about the campaign, please click here.
We are excited about this year’s offerings for Purim and hope to see you at one or all of these programs! We will also once again offer our Second Night Community Passover Seder, catered by the fabulous Jen Burt, on April 2. Please save the date and read on in this newsletter for more details.
People have been asking about how CBI might engage in social justice work at this time. The Massachusetts Religious Action Committee (RAC), the social justice arm of the reform movement, has been spearheading efforts and inviting participation from congregations; you can find out more information here. Please contact us if you have suggestions or if you would like to be part of a social action committee for CBI.
Thank you and stay warm!
With gratitude,
— Natalie Matus & Wendy Penner
