Please join us on Tuesday, January 17 at 7pm (EST) for a didactic and interactive Zoom presentation and discussion: Welcome to Grandparenting: The Joys and the Challenges, given by Frances T. Bond, PhD.
Dr. Bond — the mother of four sons, grandmother of eight grandchildren ages 13 to 40, and great-grandmother of a three-year-old — has had a long professional career in the social sciences. She worked as a University Professor, served as an educational consultant for Peace Corp Volunteers overseas, was appointed as a Special Consultant in Early Childhood Education at the US Department of Education, and was a Professional Development Specialist for Children’s Television at PBS. She is the co-author of the book The Importance of Reading to Your Child and the creator, writer, and host for the video series First Steps.
During this event Dr. Bond will speak about:
- Grandparenting as an opportunity to play, to “fall” in love, and to appreciate the magic of a developing mind.
- Staying connected with grandchildren from birth to adulthood; how grandparents can provide support, generate memories, and create a lasting bond.
- How grandparents can meet the challenges of distance and busy schedules.
We invite you to join us for this engaging event. Please RSVP via our website’s calendar if you are interested in attending online.
