Drawing Through Conflict: An Autobiographical Comics Workshop
with Anna Moriarty Lev & Kaye Shaddock
So many things contribute to who we are today – our perspectives are shaped by experiences, other people, where we come from, what we read and watch. When we tell our own stories and listen to others’ we open the door to seeing things from a new point of view, and possibly understanding each other and ourselves more deeply. In this workshop we will draw from our personal experiences and memories around Palestine and Israel, our identity as Jews in the Diaspora, and other feelings/thoughts that come up using timed prompts to create comics. We will draw and write and share in an open, safe, and welcoming environment. No previous art experience necessary. We will provide materials, but if you prefer to bring your own you are welcome to.
