Be inspired by sweeping views of the foothills of Mount Greylock and the gorgeous New England spring. \nIt will be a fun and relaxing session led by professional yoga teacher Jen Burt. We will explore a variety of yoga poses that will connect us to the 6th week of counting the Omer\, a spiritual journey that connects Passover with Shavuot. We will check out poses that relate to humility and an undercurrent of strength. We will also practice some poses to prepare us for Shavuot and the receiving of the commandments. We will have an opportunity to enjoy a number of heart-opening poses and extensions and will practice feeling centered\, focused\, and relaxed through guided meditation. We’ll experience the positive effects of laughter to counteract anxiety and stress. Suitable for adults of all levels of yoga practice\, from beginners to advanced. \nPlease bring a yoga mat or blanket to use if possible.

As we did at Tu BiShvat and Pesach\, we’ll join together with Temple Beth El of City Island and Rabbi David Markus for a joint festival celebration via TBE’s Zoom room. We’ll begin with Festival Ma’ariv (evening prayer) featuring some beautiful melodies we don’t usually hear and the joyful psalms of Hallel. After the service\, we’ll segue into Tikkun Leyl Shavuot (late night learning)\, themed around doorways\, liminal moments\, and opening ourselves to transformation and revelation; more information about these sessions can be found below.

Would you like to capture them in a meaningful way? \nThis free workshop\, presented on Zoom by Janice Dexter-Ganek\, will introduce you to ways to preserve your family stories through recording\, writing\, photography\, and art. Janice — a writing specialist at Bryant University and member of Congregation Agudas Achim in Attleboro\, MA — will present ideas that you can build on in any direction that interests you. \nPlease bring to the workshop three meaningful photographs\, three objects connected to your family memories\, and a list of five or six memories about people or events. SUMMARY:Musical Kabbalat Shabbat Service
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an extra-special musical multi-access Kabbalat Shabbat service at 7pm. There’s an ancient tradition of using the six psalms of Kabbalat Shabbat to evoke a musical journey through the week\, with L’cha Dodi as the triumphant culmination as Shabbat enters our midst. We’ll harness that tradition\, singing some familiar melodies and some that may be new to us. As always the songs and prayers of Kabbalat Shabbat will be followed by a short-and-sweet ma’ariv (evening prayers). Weather permitting\, we’ll pray the silent evening Amidah outdoors in our spectacular outdoor “sanctuary” of wetlands\, patio\, and meditation labyrinth. All are welcome to join us onsite\, but you must RSVP and wear a mask if you plan on attending onsite.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the July meeting of CBI’s Book Group\, led by Suzanne Levy Graver\, CBI member & Emerita Professor of English Literature at Williams College. We will be discussing Edmund de Waal’s The Hare with Amber Eyes: A Hidden Inheritance\, a biography of an art collection and a family that traces the ascent and decline of the Ephrussi\, a Jewish dynasty. The book details loss and diaspora and the survival of objects as written by the fifth generation of the family to inherit the collection of art. Set in Tokyo\, Great Britain\, Paris\, and Vienna\, it is an amazing story about a work of art that survived through the radical social and political transformations of time.
