We’ll begin with prayers for healing\, for ourselves and for those whom we bring with us in heart and spirit. Then we’ll hear from CBI member Cindy Polinsky about her cancer journey\, and about the graphic chapbook that she published (with lettering by CBI member Margaret Larabee and contributing local artist Brook Prestowitz!) as part of her journey. We’ll take some time to write or decorate postcards to people on our community’s mi sheberach / healing list. And then we’ll close with havdalah\, the ritual that brings Shabbat to its close and sends us forth into the new week. To kick off the new week\, we’ll enjoy cheese and crudités and an opportunity to purchase Cindy’s chapbook; proceeds go to Caring For a Cure\, a cancer patient support organization. All are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:We are still planning to go ahead with this event\, as it is anticipated that precipitation will end in North Adams well before 5:30pm. Should the storm make driving conditions difficult or unsafe as we get closer to the event and we have to postpone\, we will send out an email update. \nEveryone of all ages are welcome to join us on Monday\, December 11 (the fifth night of Chanukah) at 5:30pm for CBI’s annual Chanukah bonfire! We’ll sing Chanukah songs around the bonfire\, play with dreidels\, drink hot apple cider\, and enjoy homemade donuts and latkes. This event will be both indoor and outdoor — please dress warmly and bring a camp chair if you have one. Please RSVP via our website if you plan to attend so we can prepare enough food. \nFunding to help support CBI’s family education programs been provided by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
