SUMMARY:Simchat Torah Musical Celebration 5787
DESCRIPTION:Join Rabbi Rachel Barenblat and CBI community musicians for a music-filled celebration of Simchat Torah (“Rejoicing in the Torah”)\, the culmination of our fall festival season! We’ll make havdalah to begin\, and then we’ll savor seven hakafot / circle-dances with Torah\, supported by a live band of community members. Participants are welcome to dance the scroll around the room — or if dancing isn’t your style\, you can just take a turn embracing the Torah and connecting with whatever Torah means to you as we sing and celebrate. We’ll also hear the very end of Torah followed by the very beginning of Torah\, connecting the end of our sacred scroll with the new year’s new beginnings. \nPlease RSVP in advance if you plan to attend; this service will be held onsite only. All ages and stages are welcome\, including families with children. \nMajor financial support for this event has been provided by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation & Sally Gottesman\, as well as funding from other private donors.
