DESCRIPTION:Join us for a concert of great Jewish music from throughout the ages! At Shavuot we celebrate the revelation of Torah in all of its forms\, and we gather to offer up the “first fruits” of the spring harvest. We’ll hear great music\, both Sefardic and Ashkenazi\, that spans different eras of Jewish history\, including compositions by Flory Jagoda\, Salomone Rossi\, Naomi Shemer\, Salomon Sulzer\, Debbie Friedman\, Louis Lewandowski\, and more. Under the direction of Adam Green\, the Congregation Beth Israel choir and musicians will offer up a spring harvest of spirit and harmony. \nThe concert will be followed by a celebratory potluck. Following Ashkenazi Shavuot custom\, this meal is designated as a dairy meal (that means no meat; items may be dairy\, vegetarian\, vegan\, or pescatarian). Relive the Exodus through ritual\, poetry\, song\, and story. We’ll savor familiar melodies\, stirring poetry\, an impromptu Exodus play put on by community kids\, and more. A full kosher-for-Pesach meal will be provided (with vegetarian option); bring your own kosher for Passover table wine if you would like something other than Manischewitz. \n☆ All registrations must be received by no later than Monday\, April 8\, 2024. We must receive a RSVP in addition to your ticket payment. We will not able to accommodate late RSVPs or walk-ins due to the fact that this is a catered event. \n☆ Tickets are $45/adult & $10/child (ages 6-18); children ages 5 & under are free. DESCRIPTION:We are still planning to go ahead with this event\, as it is anticipated that precipitation will end in North Adams well before 5:30pm. Should the storm make driving conditions difficult or unsafe as we get closer to the event and we have to postpone\, we will send out an email update. \nEveryone of all ages are welcome to join us on Monday\, December 11 (the fifth night of Chanukah) at 5:30pm for CBI’s annual Chanukah bonfire! We’ll sing Chanukah songs around the bonfire\, play with dreidels\, drink hot apple cider\, and enjoy homemade donuts and latkes. This event will be both indoor and outdoor — please dress warmly and bring a camp chair if you have one.
